ONE FOR THE ROAD
Pub boss takes boozer on the road as World Cup roadworks threaten punters
It is part of the boozer’s nationwide “Home at Your Local” campaign which encourages pub-goers to treat their local as a “second home”.
As part of the drive, Greene King will also launch a number of “pub warming parties” throughout May, including its first ever day rave in Manchester this weekend (Saturday, May 9).
The celebration follows new research by the brewery giant, which found that two in five Brits would pay up to 20 per cent more to live near a good pub.
More than 17million would also prioritise their pub over traditional drivers such as school catchment areas, according to Greene King.
The brand and marketing director at Greene King pubs, Andrew Gallagher, said: “Pubs have always been at the heart of British culture and a place where communities gather and create lasting memories with loved ones.
“With our pub warmings across the country, we’re excited to welcome people through our doors, whether they’re long-time regulars or visiting for the first time.”
Punters can also enter their favourite local pub in an online draw to be in with the chance to win free beer for a year.
