The Oatlands branch of the iconic supermarket, in North Yorkshire‘s spa town of Harrogate, is a popular coffee spot for locals.
The café is described as “always busy” by customers who have reviewed it online – but it’s now set to disappear.
The change to the Oatlands store comes as Marks & Spencer announced that it will use the space to expand its beloved foodhall.
The café faced threat of closure back in 2021, however the Leeds Road store simple downsized the eatery instead.

The removal of the café, expected to take place late this year, will not result in any job losses.
An M&S spokesperson told York Press: “We know many of our customers want to be able to shop a wider range of our delicious M&S Food products. That’s why, after reviewing our Harrogate Oatlands foodhall, we have some exciting new changes planned.”
Customers can look forward to a revamped M&S bakery and more tasty fresh food thanks to the closure.
“We are re-purposing our café space to offer more fresh produce from our Select Farm partners and deliver an improved in-store bakery – we will share more details in the coming weeks,” the spokesperson continued.
“All café colleagues will transfer to other roles across the foodhall and while we understand this will be disappointing news for some customers, our team will continue working hard to serve them in-store.”
Shoppers saddened by the loss will still be able to have the M&S café experience at the Cambridge Street store in Harrogate town centre.
