Emiliane Tamara Nunes Carvalho, 24, was rescued from a property in Brazil after allegedly being held hostage for five days by her former partner.

The woman was reported missing on August 17 after her family said she failed to return from a doctor’s appointment.
Police said they found the alleged victim tied up with ropes and handcuffs at a property in Águas Lindas de Goiás.

The suspect has even been accused of staging his own disappearance to divert attention away from himself.
Authorities believe he kidnapped Emiliane and held her captive after he refused to accept her breaking up with him.
In the shocking clip of cops discovering the woman, police are seen cutting a lock to a home before storming the building.

Inside, the woman is seen shaking while tied down to a mattress underneath several ropes and chains.
She appears to have a mask and gag attached to her face.
The chilling clip was recorded on Friday and the woman has since been discharged from the hospital.
On Saturday, Emiliane said on social media that she was still recovering from her injuries.
She claimed to be still under medication and that her wounds had affected her ability to see.
Emiliane also alleged she had been assaulted while inside the property.
She claimed her ex-partner used burning cloths to torch her skin.
Police became suspicious of Souza after his own family reported him as missing too.
He was arrested on the day Emiliane was found, and reportedly resisted officers as they detained him.
Local cops claim he had staged his own disappearance in a desperate attempt to divert suspicion while holding his former girlfriend captive.
After raiding the run-down home where Emiliane was found, officers seized a 9mm pistol, sedatives, and items used to restrain the alleged victim.
Souza has allegedly confessed to drugging Emiliane before taking her to the property where she was held, local cops say.
The investigation remains ongoing.
