Following inputs from law enforcement agencies, the Centre decided to cancel the exam and ordered a comprehensive probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).Fee payment?No. The NTA has clarified that no additional examination fee will be charged for the re-test.Fee refunded?Yes. The agency said the examination fees already paid by students will be refunded.Registration?No. The NTA has clarified that registration details, candidature data and examination centres selected during the May 2026 cycle will remain valid for the re-examination.Students will not be required to submit fresh application forms.Syllabus?No major change is expected.
