Invoking Sarkar-e-Khalsa, the system of governance established by Maharaja Ranjit Singh during his reign, Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon and BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh centred their Amritsar visit on reviving Punjabi pride and prosperity while calling out the “failures” of the AAP government in the state. On his maiden visit to Amritsar after assuming office, Dhillon was critical of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, saying no one was above the Akal Takht, and that Mann must appear before it after being designated “Guru Dokhi”.“First, Mann said the video was AI-generated and then, when it turned out to be genuine, he said the person in the video was not him. Mann must appear before the Takht, resign and seek pardon,” said Dhillon.Chugh described Mann as “arrogant”, referring to the Chief Minister’s rejection of the Akal Takht decree.
