The Railways on Wednesday suspended a staff member after a video surfaced showing a 1st AC coupe decorated with flowers and balloons. The Railways has also ordered a departmental inquiry.The South Central Railways have booked the decorator under the Railway Act for unauthorised entry into the train, travelling without ticket and indulging in trespassing.According to the Railways, “A couple travelling in the Nandigram Express on July 6 had privately engaged a decorator online to decorate their coupe.”The decorator gained entry into the coach at Jalna railway station without authorisation, in violation of Railway rules and security protocols.”The decorator’s entry into the coach at Jalna station was unauthorised and is viewed as a serious lapse. The staff member concerned has been placed under suspension, and a departmental inquiry ordered. Action will be taken based on the inquiry,” the Railways said.The video of the decorated coupe has gone viral.
