But France’s capital has remained peaceful, with jubilant fans taking over the streets in a huge celebration.

More than 20,000 cops were deployed across France, including 8,000 lining the streets of Paris.

But tonight’s World Cup clash has instead erupted in an outburst of happiness.

Pictures show the streets abuzz with excitement as yet another thrilling encounter came to a close.

Morocco’s fans brought a sea of red to Boston’s Gillette Stadium but they were badly missing their spearhead, injured Munich striker Ismael Saibari.

Despite a slightly more adventurous second half, the North African side couldn’t scare Mike Maignan or his back line.
