Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Monday reviewed security arrangements across sensitive areas, major cities, and vital installations ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. He issued directives on inter-district coordination, high-visibility checkpoints and round-the-clock surveillance to prevent any law and order issues in the border state.The DGP chaired law and order review meetings with officers of the commissionerates of Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana, as well as the Border, Jalandhar and Ludhiana Ranges.Beginning his tour in Amritsar, Yadav inspected security in border areas and directed units to maintain heightened vigilance, intensify patrolling and ensure robust crowd management with rapid response systems.In Jalandhar, he evaluated preparedness across the commissionerate and Jalandhar Range, covering Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, and SBS Nagar districts. Chairing the meeting, he briefed officers on current threat perceptions and stressed flexible deployment and swift response mechanisms to ensure citizens celebrate Independence Day with confidence.Concluding his tour in Ludhiana, Yadav chaired a review meeting with Ludhiana Commissionerate Police and Ludhiana Range officers.
