In his first speech since quitting as Health Secretary last week, he told the Commons that Labour should embrace “confident British patriotism”.
He said: “Unless we change course, we risk handing the keys of No10 to Reform.
“I do not want that on our consciences.
“For the first time, nationalists are in power in every corner of the UK.

“Scottish and Welsh nationalism represents an existential threat to the future integrity of the United Kingdom.
“And Reform UK represent a threat to the values that have made this country great.”
Mr Streeting is calling on Sir Keir Starmer to resign and has vowed to stand if there is a leadership contest.
He has also endorsed Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham’s attempt to win the Makerfield by-election in his bid to become PM.
Mr Streeting added: “It’s Andy Burnham’s fight in Makerfield and it is Labour’s fight for the soul of our country.”
