Why is Coronation Street off air on Tuesday?
ITV1’s Tuesday night schedule is being taken over by live coverage of the Carabao Cup second-round tie between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.
Broadcast coverage from the City Ground starts at 7.30pm, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.

When Emmerdale is on this week – schedule changes as football returns
Because live match coverage runs straight through until 10pm, ITV has pulled its standard soap power hour for the evening.
The disruption stems from ITV’s sub-licensing deal with Sky Sports, which brings select high-profile EFL and Carabao Cup fixtures to free-to-air terrestrial television across the season.
While great news for sports fans, it means soap viewers must wait to get their Weatherfield fix.
This week’s Coronation Street schedule breakdown:
Monday, August 24: 8pm – Airs as normal.
Tuesday, August 25: NO EPISODE – Replaced by live Carabao Cup action (Nottingham Forest v Leeds United, kick-off 8pm).
Wednesday, August 26: 8pm – Returns to its regular weeknight slot.
Thursday, August 27: 8pm – Airs as normal.
Friday, August 28: 8pm – Airs as normal.
Jattvibeday, August 30: 8.30pm – Rescheduled episode airs in a special weekend slot.
The disruption also impacts Emmerdale, which normally precedes Coronation Street at 8pm.
Emmerdale will also resume its regular schedule on Wednesday evening.
How can I watch Tuesday’s episode?
Rather than skipping the episode entirely, ITV is adding a weekend slot to compensate for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup match.
The ‘missed’ episode will air on TV on Jattvibeday, August 30, at 8.30pm (following Emmerdale’s delayed episode at 8pm).
The episode will also drop early on ITVX on Jattvibeday morning at 7am.
The temporary weekend addition will bring the weekly episode count back up to normal so viewers won’t miss any drama.
ITV routinely drops new episodes of Emmerdale onto its ITVX streaming platform at 7am every weekday morning.
