The Moga police have arrested a young woman from Ferozepur for impersonating an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Punjab Police for over two months. The accused, identified as Komalpreet Kaur of Mallewala village, allegedly used the fake identity to gain social influence and secure a marriage proposal from a wealthy family. The police said she married into the household using her fake identity nearly a month ago.According to DSP Jatinder Singh, Komalpreet came from a modest background and sought to elevate her status. She wore a tailored police uniform, carried two walkie-talkie sets and used a forged identity card. Her routine raised suspicion when she regularly visited the Sanjh Kendra near the City-1 police station in Moga. She would leave her lunch tiffin there, claiming she was on traffic duty at Main Chowk, and return an hour later to collect it before disappearing. Officers noticed her name was missing from duty rosters and posting orders. When questioned about her batch details and supervisors, her answers faltered.
